Hello All I recently purchased a TMC Spitfire C. It is a great looking bike but has been plagued with problems. The first issue was a oil leak from the lower rocker box not an uncommon issue with HD engines. The second issue and one that really concerns me is a crack in the lower frame rails at the rear of the bike where it connects to upper frame rails and swing arm mount. Apparently this is a problem with the spitfire bike. I would like any information on repairs done to correct the issue.
My bike is currently out for repair. The current plan to repair is to cut the swing arm mount and the support from upper frame rails and remove the section that is cracked. Take a piece of solid round stock mill the first couple of inches down to fit inside the existing frame re-weld support from upper frame rails and swing arm. I am a little concerned that the stress will transfer down to the existing original frame and cause stress cracks at a different location.
Anyone else care to share how their frame was repaired.
