My brake light recently got stuck as if I was always activating my breaks. After a lot of googling to figure out the problem, I discovered it was my rear hydraulic brake switch. I determined it was the switch by removing one of the 2 wires. I turned on my ignition so the lights would come on. With the wire removed, the brake light was no longer on. Pressing the front brake lever turned on my brake light letting me know it was the rear brake switch. On the keystone, it is located on the left side near where the swing arm is attached. It was on so tight that the small bracket that holds it began to twist while trying to loosen the switch. I had to use another wrench to counter the pressure on the bracket as I removed the switch. I found a replacement at the local auto parts store. It was easy to replace once I removed it. Bled the breaks a little just in case I got an air bubble. Now it works just fine. Hope someone finds this helpful.

Hello Dale, sorry for the delayed response. I asked for a brake lite switch using a part numbers provided form one of the forum member. The auto parts store can cross reference the HD # 72023-51C. Advance Auto S551, Napa #SL147, Auto Zone WA627C, Accell 181101. The switch is a bit larger in diameter. I have noticed since I installed the switch that I think it requires more foot pressure to activate it than the original brake switch, so when light braking sometimes the switch isnt activated unless I also use the front brake. I usually use both brakes anyway. I'm thinking the next time that I will end up back to the harley switch. Is there a way to subscribe here to get notice that someone made a post here? Thanks Cruzer01
